Review of Batman Returns (1992) by Tom C — 28 Jul 2012
Though cheesy at times and questionable for sidelining the main character, Batman Returns is just as good if not superior to its predecessor. Tim Burton makes the Batman franchise his own with a darker story, Gothic set designs, and several re-imagined tragic and/or sadistic leading roles (Keaton, DeVito, Pfeiffer, Walken).
The characters raw emotion is only amplified by Elfman's operatic and iconic score.
