Tim Burton is truly able to bring the comic books to life in Batman Returns. Nolan's trilogy, while it is quite fantastic, puts batman in a realistic environment, but Burton's first two batman films are actually like watching a comic book play out.
DeVito as penguin and Pfeiffer as catwoman are both perfect for their respective roles.
