Review of Batman Returns (1992) by Edward N — 17 Apr 2014
Batman Returns is a dark, yet interestingly developed sequel that follows the 1989 film 'Batman'. In this film, we're introduced to the villains, and they're- Penguin and Catwoman. Selena Kyle/Catwoman gets tossed from her boss from a window.
We see she's rescued by cats/kittens. She becomes 'Catwoman'. Penguin is a hideously-deformed and eerie looking person who comes from a rich family in Gotham. The films focuses more on Batman, unlike the first film which was a little more focused on the joker.
Nevertheless, the first film was still great. This one, Bat,an Returns, is superbly directed yet again from Gothic-loving master- Tim Burton. It has intense scenes, dark, thrilling scenes and genius acting from all three (Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer).
This film truly lives up to its aspects and is just as great as it's dark predecessor.
