Review of Batman Ninja (2018) by Richard D — 25 May 2018
Leave it to the Japanese to make a Batman film that is somehow more weird than the Adam West films. There is surprisingly little Ninja stuff in here and more Samurai. The art direction is the only interesting part of this film, most notably for Red Hood. The plot is completely ridiculous. If your expecting anything resembling a Kurosawa film then keep looking. As for the characters, Batman's arc is completed in 20 minutes. All of the Robins are there but I don't think the writer knew anything about Damien as his character is completely backwards. All the side villains (Poison, Penguin, Death stroke and Two-Face are complete throwaways. The fight against all these characters are no more than 10 seconds each. But then Batman and Joker get into the same argument that they have had and resolved better numerous times.
Only see for the artwork, otherwise its a hard pass.
