Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Thomas L — 28 Mar 2013
I will admit this right now: I have never seen that much Batman: the Animated Series. I have never seen any of the Burton or Schumacher films. I never read any of the comic books about Batman. But I have seen all three Christopher Nolan movies.
With that said, let me say what I think of this film. I thought it was great. It was just a little short, but still good. I really liked the Phantasm, that was a great villain. And we got the Joker as well, voiced by Mark Hamill. I really liked how this film digged deep into Bruce Wayne's regrets and how he once had a love interest. It was very well done. The characters were fleshed out very well. This is actually a pretty underrated movie, and it is by no means bad.
