Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Frisby 2 — 17 Nov 2010
The masterpiece of any Batman adaption. Not only is this amazing because of it being Batman, but the animation is Warner Bros. superb, the plot & story are at their best, the voice acting is phenomenal, it is dark, eerie & somewhat gothic (no more gothic than Burton's version), the score is fantastic, & best of all, it stays FICTIONAL & loyal to it's source.
Kevin Conroy is the best Batman voice, & a fictional Batman is the best Batman. The Joker is as comical & sinister as he should be. This film is my favorite Batman film of all time next to Batman Returns. And the score may not live up to Danny Elfman's genius work, but it beautifully suits this fantastic film!
