Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Matt M — 14 Aug 2008
This was the definitive Batman movie for many Batman fans before the arrival of Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight. As such it's an engrossing but simpler affair with a great crime/noir ambience. It's in much the same vein as the animated TV series from the early 90s which can only be good.
Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy are once again amazing.
Highly recommended for Batman fans.
Not suitable for children under 8 due to mild bloody violence and disturbing themes. 8/10.
