By a stretch, the greatest Batman film and 'superhero' film ever made. Timm's animated universe is really something to behold, and is forgotten despite its originality. Mask of the Phantasm is the icing on the cake that is the animated series - the plot is good, and the voice acting in addition is wonderful.
Conroy is the best Batman, Hammill is the best Joker. Batman is far from a hero, and for once in an adaptation is completely and utterly awesome. Neither Nolan, nor Burton has got anything on this. Better than most of the anime out there.
