Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Markus K — 07 Aug 2009
Dark and edgy like Burton's films, instead of those Schumacher films that look like pinball-tables. It has nice storyline, Joker and everything. Altough Phantasm was underused. Whole movie felt like an long episode of Batman Animated Series (I never saw that...). Has a score by Shirley Walker that rivals Danny Elfman scores.
That last scene with Batman was epic, and haunting.
I wish this had been third Batman-movie, instead of Batman Forever. Or... *sigh* Batman & Robin. Even with it's flaws, nice Batman movie. And different!
