Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Jedd Y — 08 Jan 2010
A dark and contemplative animated film that was the only DCAU movie to get a release in the cinemas. The narrative, in typical film noir style, jumps back and forth, telling of Batman's battle with the mysterious Phantasm in the present and how he first put on the cape and cowl in the past.
Rises far above just being "a cartoon", this is even better than some live-action Batman movies.
