Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Dirk S — 23 Jan 2010
How can you not like Bruce Timm's art style? He combines great animation with smart plots. His mix of comic humor and dead serious themes is tasteful and never boring. It is far away from the realism flu and the 'muscles everywhere' porn you saw in many comics from this time it appeared ( and still spooks in minds of some today's artists).
It is amazing that this movie was just released on VHS in germany ( don't know how the movie was handled in usa). This movie could even top Dark Knight in it's quality.
Really underrated movie that needed more attention.
It is the best Batman.
