Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Matt F — 14 Dec 2011
"Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" comes from the same production team responsible for the immensely popular TV series featuring the same superhero in the early 1990s. It's also more involving and more intricate than any live action Batman feature that doesn't involve Chris Nolan and co.
The script is incredibly well-plotted and thought-out, spinning an intriguing tale of lies, love and crime. The voice actors, especially Dana Delany in the female lead, match the script's level of intensity and polish.
Clocking in at a paltry 74 minutes, "Phantasm" is a great hour-or-so's worth of entertainment for all ages.
