Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Lautaro P — 02 Mar 2012
Excellent movie of the almost perfect and one of my favourite TV shows, Batman The Animated Series.
A mysterious vigilante is killing Gotham City's mob bosses and Batman is blame for these murders. At the same time Bruce Wayne's past returns to haunt him. Excellent story that shows the beginnings of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman and one time when he almost had a normal happy life but the past is always keeping up with him.
The voice acting is amazing like in the show, mainly the voices of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and The Joker.
The animation is perfect and fluid. The atmosphere is dark and gothic with an art deco noir inspired look, same as the show.
Another really good element is the action, it has great moments and climax with the best fight between Batman and The Joker in any movie.
Great characters, motivations, soundtrack and animation make this movie the best Batman movie for me, after Nolan.
