Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Randall Q — 14 Jul 2012
It's difficult not to inject a heavy dose of nostalgia into my opinion of Mask of the Phantasm, but upon a 2012 re-watch hyping myself up for The Dark Knight Rises, the animated feature holds up even to the Nolan films.
The animation, while slightly dated, could still enthrall a batfanchild of today's CGI era. The voice acting and score are timeless. The story is darker than most of the episodes in the television series, and epitomizes The Animated Series Batman better than any of the other features released in the same universe.
A hidden gem in the bat-universe.
