Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Gabriel C — 18 Jul 2012
This "phantasmic" animated feature is known as the best animated Batman film of all time, and it lives up to this title with its wide range of talented voice actors, its deep, engaging storyline, and its original use of the animation medium.
Although it lacks the action of most movies centered around the dark knight, this film serves as a creative addition to the Batman franchise. In the movie, Batman/Bruce Wayne is used as more of a detective than a superhero, and his romance with exclusive character Andrea Beaumont, definitely setting this feature apart from the more action-packed adventures of "the bat".
It's different, but in a good way, so I like it!
