Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Scott B — 26 May 2013

My personal favourite superhero movie! The television series was one of the smartest animated TV shows ever made, because all the characters had depth, and were believable. The stories was unpredictable and not always a happy ending (like disney) and it was a show both adults and children enjoy.

This movie represents the TV show perfectly, Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamill (The Joker) were as good as ever, and the new villain (The Phantasm) was just as memorable as any of the villains from the show. Batman's love interest Andrea Beumont is easily one of the strongest character in the movie, and it was great see what motivated Bruce Wayne to become Batman. Everything ties together well and the ending is really satisfying and leaves you wanting to see more. A must see movie!
