Review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by 5 4 — 23 Dec 2009
This is probably my favorite animated film of all time and let me just say fuck everyone out there who says Disney's Fantasia was better that movie was just a two hour acid trip. This movie was Batman at his finest portrayed by one of my all time favorite voice actors the one the only Kevin Conroy it was just so unbelivable I mean the Villian The Phantasm was just perfect taking brutal revenge on the mobsters who ruined her life yeah I said it The Phantasm is a woman you had 16 years to see this so too bad if I spoiled it for you!The Phantasm was great she even managed to take on Batman after jumping out of an exploding building how much more badass can you be? And to top it all off this classic throws in the clown prince of crime himself the Joker just to highten to a level few animated films ever reach.
Also in this masterpiece they even reveal the Joker was the reason for The Phantasm comming to be as well as the Joker's past before he lost his marbles in an acid bath. Now the ending battle between him and Batman was just epic all in all this film was the perfect animated film The only small flaw in this was they don't reveal what happens to the Joker at the end of the film they do it in a comic book later on but still they should have made the Phantasm a regular villian on the show but all that aside I loved this movie and the score was just fantastic and the song "I never even told you" during the ending credits that really hit me where I lived goddamn this movie was awesome! I'm The Inglourious Critic I give great movies the response they deserve good night everybody!
