Review of Batman: Gotham Knight (2008) by Karl K — 13 Jul 2010
Its a cool batman movie, and definately a must for the fans, and if you like batman in general. not for the little kids at all, there can be quite alot of blood considering its a batman movie.
More for the older batman fans, its much darker and grittier.
Kevin conroy has always been batman, and its a joy to see him reprise his role. he does an excellent job as always, no one can do it better than him. well I think I should mention that batman:gotham knight is done much like the animatrix, in that it is split into separate stories that make up the movie. this is a good idea, but I dont think it should have been used and it could have been done much better to a greater effect. my favourite stories would have to be dead shot and in darkness dwells. these ones are the most memorable, mostly for the villains in them and the action that occurs. for me, they are the most engaging and gripping.
All of the stories are animated differently, mostly its good animation but some is really bad. more so for the first story, I didnt like the animation or the drawing in that one. they made batman fat o.O.
Oh yeah, and there are 3 different villains in the movie, but none of them appear for very long. killer croc, scarecrow and dead shot.
In my opinion, batman gotham knight is a worthy batman movie, but doesnt live up to its potential and could have been much better. luckily it doesnt outstay its welcome, its pretty short.
If youre looking for an animated batman movie, go for mask of phantasm or sub zero. they are much better.
