Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Adam K — 18 Jul 2012
The best thing this borderline flop has going for it is Jim Carrey as The Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. Overall, its a poorly cast, poorly directed mess that relies on loud noises and over the top sequences to cover up a silly script, a boring plot, and quite a lack of any real entertainment.
It has been firmly established for years that Joel Schumacher put the Caped Crusader in a slump and did not really know how to follow up Burton's creativity at all. This attempts greatly to be a more kid-oriented, cartoonish slapstick festival that entirely shines away from the spirit of what Batman in cinema is meant to be.
