Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Adam F — 22 Feb 2013
"Batman Forever" isn't as over-the-top goofy as "Batman and Robin" and doesn't follow the tone of the previous serious and dark Batman films by Burton, making this probably the weakest of the series, if only because it doesn't go all the way with any of its ideas.
For fans of the Batman character, it's pretty embarrassing to see the mythology of the comics turned into this neon farce and it's made worse by the constant mugging and over acting of Jim Carrey while Tommy Lee Jones is often left to do nothing on the screen.
The casting is horrendous (with the exception of Val Kilmer and Michael Gough) and even for little kids, it's not really a fun film. (Blu-ray, March 9, 2012).
