Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Christian H — 26 Apr 2014

Upon first viewing I didn't really care for this movie, however, after a couple of more times it grew on me. Val Kilmer is an OK Batman. He's an acceptable switch (he's not George Clooney).

Jim Carrey is a good as the Riddler (mainly because I don't care for the Riddler in general) so he works out the kinks for me. Tommy Lee Jones is fun but not as dark or well written as Two-Face should be.

Nicole Kidman yeah she's there for the sex appeal but she plays a good love interest/damsel in distress. Chris O'Donnell, I throw him a bone he was fine Boy Wonder. The sets are brighter and goofy at times.

The writing still has few problems some chessey one-liners are thrown in. I loath the opening one about the drive-thru. Overall "Batman Forever" is defiantly a step down in the series but still a fun enough movie to entertain and maybe have a second viewing.

Also take some solace in knowing it's not "Batman & Robin".
