Batman forever was a giant drop following the Burton films. This movie blended classic Batman Adam Wast type camp with the somewhat darker more modern tone of Batman, and the end result while enjoyable certainly had it's flaws.
Kilmer was a great Batman/Bruce Wayne filling the Cowl perfectly. The rest of the cast while star studded and delivering OK performances just didn't live up to there potential. Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones were good as Riddler and Two-Face, but Schumacher's poor directing and terrible knowledge of the characters held back the actors.
Who I am sure if giving the right direction could have pulled off Iconic performances more on par with the Burton Villains. Nicole Kidman was solid as Bruce Wayne's new love interest Dr. Chase Meridian, and O'donnell gave us a decent but not great performance as the Boy Wonder.
Overall Batman Forever is very over the top and far fetched, but I enjoy it for the type a Batman film it is. A homage to Old School Batman fans while at the same time giving a newer generation of Batman fans a few great thrills along the way.
