Review of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000) by Greg R — 01 Jan 2010
I love the animated batman of the 90s and early 2000s,why? Mostly because of it's mature tone and complex character development . This is one of the animated batman films based on the television series batman beyond. It featured the appearance of the joker (Mark Hamill) in the futuristic world of gotham city.
The animation is superb, mostly deco art inspired like batman the animated series of the 90s. Also the voice acting is great with Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle providing the voices of Bruce wayne the former Batman and his protege Terry McGinnis.
At least we got to see some flashbacks set in the past, featuring a younger bruce wayne. Unlike previous batman films it had some suspense as well as a plot twist. Which I am not going to reveal because it would spoil the surprise. So anyone who likes batman in general or batman beyond should enjoy this.
