Review of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000) by Larry G — 28 May 2010
I never got into Batman Beyond. I guess I just never wanted anything to replace the original Batman Animated Series, and I always thought the costume looked dumb, the storyline a bit generic...eh, I never gave the show much of a chance at all.
But this movie isn't bad at all. I have to say that this new cast of characters is a little less impressive and lazy than the original one, but it's still at least entertaining enough for a 90 minute flick like this.
The best part of the movie is that flashback to where you see what happened to lead up to the events in this movie - won't spoil it, but it does say something that the best part is the only part that hearkens back to the real series.
Some of the plot is a bit half baked, but overall I liked this one. It's still no Mask of the Phantasm though.
