Review of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000) by Sanford R — 20 Oct 2009

Hailed as a top example of comic book hero animated feature, the film benefits from above average voice acting and a "somewhat dark" plot to keep an entertaining pace.

I wasn't aware of the animated series that bore this name, so much of the flashbacks didn't have any special meaning to me, but they were still handled well enough to add some dimension.

Having seen this, it makes me wish that more films would go even farther down this path, though of course it would pose tremendous risk to get a R rating in so doing.
