Review of Batman Begins (2005) by Jamey P — 16 Jan 2016
Utterly underrated. Nolan shapes a world that Cain, Bale, Wilkinson, Freeman, and Oldmen thrive in and it shows from the get go. The all star cast delivers fantastic performances. The mythos and archetypes are played very well. The story is the best Batman story ever produced.
Nolan can't direct a fight scene very well. And the film may feel preachy to some. Probably Marvel fans who prefer smug one liners every few minutes. But for film fans and super hero fans who prefer substance this is aces. You could remove Batman from the film and it'd still be a good viewing experience.
