Review of Batman Begins (2005) by J K — 27 Jan 2014
A gritty portrayal of the emerging Dark Knight. Actual, just about plausible, explanations as to how the Batman can 'fly' etc are presented to us, rather than assuming we are an accepting audience as of yesteryear .
He bruises, he hurts. This makes him human. The triple-personality Bat is wonderfully played by Bale, the Scarecrow is suitably scary and not the obvious villain to kick off with. Dear old Michael Caine adds the cheeky chappy humour to lighten the load, as Alfred.
The best re-boot to boot.
