Review of Batman Begins (2005) by Jeremy D — 14 Jul 2014
In 2002 after seeing Spiderman I thought to myself, "Why don't we have a film like this for Batman?" We always saw him springing into action, but the his origin was always told in flashback.
Parent's got shot, decided to become a crime fighter. Never the process, never the training. Being 11 years old sitting in the theatre was really shocking to see this almost martial arts sort of film style, and how much it worked.
Being imaginative when I was young, I always wanted to make a realistic Batman film that could take place in our world and this is it. I felt the same Roger Ebert felt. "This is the Batman film I was waiting for.
This is the Batman movie I didn't know I was waiting for.".
