First thing to get out of the way: This IS NOT a Batman movie. It is very much a Suicide Squad/Task Force X movie. That being said, this is hands down one of the absolute best animated movies I've ever seen.

The animation in this movie is top notch. The character designs are a perfect amalgamation of the Arkham video games and the New 52 DC Comics costumes. That mixed with the stellar action makes this movie an amazing thrill ride for any comic book fan, DC and Marvel alike.

The story is perfect as well. It's Ocean's 11 meets super villains. The way the Squad is brought together by Amanda Waller is a brilliant sequence that meshes the 1960's vibe with a modern day look and feel. This is easily the BEST incarnation of this team ever done. The story will keep you enthralled from start to finish. Whether you're watching this to further the stories told in the Arkham games or if you're just watching it to see the Suicide Squad, this movie will keep you happy from start to finish.

The aspects of this movie that I liked best were not only the loyalty to the source material with the characters, but how they brought in aspects of Adam Glass's storyline in the New 52 Suicide Squad comics, namely adapting aspects of Suicide Squad vol 1: Kicked In The Teeth. The whole love triangle between Deadshot/Harley Quinn/Joker and the bitter rivalry between Deadshot and Captain Boomerang made this movie my second favorite DC animated movie, if not my first favorite. Everything from the Suicide Squad members, to the mission/story, to Amanda Waller building the team and calling the shots, this movie is 100% pure Suicide Squad and an absolute must watch for any DC Comics fan. Hopefully, if you haven't already, this movie will convince people to read Suicide Squad vol1: Kicked In The Teeth.
