Review of Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) by Russ V — 04 Dec 2014
Batman: Assault on Arkham is a must watch for fans of the Batman Arkham games. As a tie in too the games, it will feel familiar to fans with many locations, characters, and even fighting techniques and gadgets used by Batman used in the games making appearances in the movie.
It's great to have Kevin Conroy return to do the voice of Batman, and while Mark Hamill will probably always be my favorite actor to portray the Joker (animated or live action) Troy Baker does a great job as his replacement.
It is also worth noting that the movie follows are the Suicide Squad, with the main characters being Deadshot and Harley Quinn and Batman being more of a secondary character, although this isn't a bad thing as it makes for a great heist movie.
And also for fans of the games who see that this is an animated movie and skip it thinking it's made for kids should know that Assault on Arkham is a more mature film that doesn't shy away from swearing, violence, and a darker tone similar to that in the video games.
