Review of Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) by Graham B — 08 Dec 2014
Actually more of a Suicide Squad film and serves as an introduction to this band of misfits before their live action big screen film.
Whilst Batman is busy looking for a dirty bomb The Joker has planted somewhere in Gotham, Amanda Waller (who? No me either) dispatches Task Force X (a group of criminals picked by the government to complete deadly/impossible missions in return for time off their sentences) to break into Arkham asylum and locate The Riddler's cane which contains stolen files.
DC continues with the dodgy accents in their animation, but otherwise this is quite a fun ride. The group dynamics jostle up the pace and distract from the silly storyline. Quips a plenty, swear bombs and sexual innuendo. This is almost Carry On Suicide Squad and if this is the edge the live action film is taking, I'm in.
