Review of Batman & Robin (1997) by Jason W — 23 May 2014
It's easy to hate on this film, and while there are a lot of missteps, I also find something charming about it. It feels plastic and fake, but it's a comic book film - and not every comic book film has to be dark or moody.
Thurman is a hit for me, but Schwarzenegger is unfortunately a miss. Not sure if it's his terrible acting or the stiff lines he was given, but Mr. Freeze just doesn't work. On the other hand, Thurman as Poison Ivy is fun, campy, and a pleasure to watch.
