Review of Batman and Harley Quinn (2017) by Omar L — 17 Sep 2017
Arleen Sorkin created an amazing performance with Harley Quinn when she debuted 25 years ago in 1992. When Sorkin retired and was replaced by voice talent extraordinare Tara Strong, Strong perfectly imitated the tone and feel of Harley. Melissa Rauch seems to be doing an impression of those two, and while it's a good one, it just doesn't seem right.
But man, was this movie all over the place. It tried to be slapstick and light-hearted in a dark kind of way, but the mixture of the broad humor with the mature themes and language made it seem like a poorly-done Adam McKay movie. Seriously, a fart sequence in the Batmobile?!
