Review of Batman (1989) by Abemc — 25 Jul 2016
Absolutely love the atmosphere and characterization of Burton's Batman universe. Keaton, Basinger, and of course Nicholson (among many others) all bring their A-game, Elfman's score is fantastic, the visual look and feel is dark, gloomy, and mysterious.
Dated special effects and lackluster fight choreography take away from the experience, but not too much. The plot is built around impactful moments instead of large-scale coherence. Still a great Batman film; a solid 8 out of 10 despite the drawbacks.
