Review of Batman (1989) by Danburrito — 06 Jan 2016
Jack Nicholson's Joker may not compare to the legendary performance by Heath Ledger but Christian Bale's Batman (as good as he was) is nowhere near as good as Keaton's. I enjoyed this movie. My biggest complaint was the fact that a little too many scenes revolved around The Joker (I know Jack is a big star and all, but the movie is called "Batman" not "The Joker").
But nevertheless, Michael Keaton nails it. It's difficult to imagine the guy who played Beetlejuice could nail a tormented hero like Batman but he does. And don't get me wrong, Nicholson's Joker is fun to watch- he's just a little just a bit over-the-top sometimes.
Overall, a good film.
