Heavily stylized, dark, and occasionally too much like a cheesy B-movie, this first reboot of the classic character is at least valuable in bringing us a more serious attitude toward superheroes and their effect on the people, as well as a solidly memorable Joker, in the long history of them, by Jack Nickolson.
