Review of Batman (1989) by Brett H — 30 Jan 2014
The first dark incarnation of the Caped Crusader that hits all the right notes and remains a beloved classic to all. Michael Keaton blew everyone's expectations away playing Batman and his quiet demeanor really sells the tone of the film.
Jack Nicholson steals the entire movie however with his spot-on psychotic portrayal and it almost becomes more about him than Batman himself. Tim Burton's Gotham is as dark as it gets and you really got to hand it to him for making it look so believable.
We all have this film to thank for making superhero films credible!
