Review of Batman (1989) by Bw14916 — 28 Jan 2018

Batman is good movie that while bringing Batman closer to the Nolan films, still has a good amount of campiness. The Joker in particular is very over the top, but it suits the character well. Batman is also portrayed well, with Bruce Wayne being tortured, but it is far more subtle than most adaptations.

There is a change made to Batman's backstory that while making the conflict more personal isn't very necessary, and is just an unnecessary change to Batman's lore. Overall though this is a very good installment in the Batman franchise.
