Only in France could you get away with calling your film Bastards. Straight away it gets points for the title!

It's a dark revenge thriller and it could have been so much better had there been a structured narrative but the film is all over the place. It flips between scenes where you feel like you've walked in on the end of a scene. We find the lead character mid fight with 2 unknowns, why did the fight start? where did they come from? who knows? It's great to have a character-centric story, just don't forget the story in the process.
