Review of Basquiat (1996) by John Paul T — 18 Jul 2007
For some reason, films about artists always seem to be particularly good, and Basquiat is no exception. I remember buying this film on a whim mostly because David Bowie was in it. Although Bowie's portrayal of Andy Warhol is indeed fantastic, I was just as impressed by the performances of Wright, Del Toro (perhaps especially Del Toro), and Oldman as well.
This is a moving and informative film about a great artist.
