Review of Basquiat (1996) by Ann L — 26 Aug 2007
I owe many movies including this one, a great deal for inspiring me with the gradual sense of relief from a certain regimented institution known as american high school. As canonized these characters may seem now (basquiat, bowie-warhol, ny art world, etc), I definitely caught an artistic fever through this film, with my eyes totally fixated on anything as colorful, gritty as basquiat's kind of wild, urban primitivism.
