Review of Basquiat (1996) by Morgan O — 20 Dec 2008
I probably need to see this again as it's been 7 years since I first saw it and hated it.
It's possible that I was just utterly repelled by Courteney Love being in the film.
Gary Oldman was good as usual, and David Bowie is pretty spot-on and entertaining as Andy Warhol.
Julian Schnabel is obviously in love with the mythos surrounding Basquiat and kinda cocks up the film with his very subjective viewpoint.
Other than that I can't remember too much about it.
