Review of Basquiat (1996) by Virginia M — 24 Apr 2007
Dot the i >> Not your usual romantic thriller. Twisty and twisted, all in good fun.
Scanners >> Strange little movie about people who can use their minds to control others. Or should I say two nervous systems connecting. Campy and entertaining.
Basquiat >> Great cast. Good story. I have the feeling David Bowie like Andy Warhol since he plays Warhol in this film and also has a song about him.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters >> A little hit and miss. Moments of hilarity, but this is just like an extended episode. Love the show. Just wish this was more jam packed with humour. Maybe I should watch it again. I might like it more.
Children of Men >> Intense... especially that car chase scene. Very well made futuristic, political thriller with an original idea. The only thing that bothered me was the end. ***** SPOILER WARNING ***** In a similar way to A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, it almost seemed like a happy ending was forced. In both cases, if they went for the less happy route. They could have been masterpieces. In Children of Men's case, if the ship didn't show up at the end... the film would have been a devastating work of art. ***** SPOILERS END *****.
