Review of Basmati Blues (2017) by Lacus D — 25 Sep 2018
I really loved this movie. I wish there were more movies like this with dancing and singing of good clean clever songs, and a happy ending. Movies without violence, sex scenes or swearing. Movies that have some gorgeous locations, a nice story, likable characters, a bit of romance, some comedy and a sense of family and community.
Sure it wasn't an epic film, or even an epic musical, but it was entertaining, lighthearted, funny, had gorgeous locations and some quite good songs. What more could you really ask of a movie than to be entertained and leave the movie with nice feelings of what you just viewed? Now as for these critic ratings I'm really discouraged with them.
It's no wonder good, clean movies/musicals are going down the drain when FINALLY we have a beautiful well done entertaining movie without throwing in cursing, violence and sex and all these critics give it such scathing terrible reviews.
If these people have anything to do with why entertainment continues to go downhill could someone please fire all these people and get us some people with actual taste for entertainment instead of vapid mind poisoning to be movie critics? I would never trust any of these people to tell me if something was good or not after seeing these ratings for such a good movie.
