Review of Basket Case (1982) by John S — 01 Apr 2008
This is proper 80's grindhouse. gore and humour in equal measure. it looks gritty and authentic in real New York locations (even a rare shot of the twin towers). You would have thought a film like this wouldnt work on any level, but a good performance from Kevi Van Hentenryck holds the film together, giving the relationship between himself and his deformed brother some real depth.
A proper cult classic. A must for horror fans!
