Review of Baskın (2013) by Agnes M — 18 Aug 2016
The slow ramp up was extrememly well done, although a little bit predictable. Saving grace is fantastic production values, and a truly mesmerizing bad guy.
The pros:
Great lead up, although slightly long.
Fantastic lead baddie.
The expressions of absolute horror and shock are fabulous - really well done, guys.
The group dynamics - hard to get right with 5 guys, but they did it.
Framing!
Production values!
Even a little comedy!
The cons:
The ending - wtf? lame!
The gore sequences - if it hadn't been for the excellent baddie, the gore would have been tedious and trite.
Missing some story line and character development.
Overall a good ride for fans of pan's labrynth or hellraiser movies.
