Review of Basic (2003) by Monsieur R — 29 Aug 2010
A film that is a long and tedious interrogation of a subject which leads to an improbable ending. These guys are all in a game of deception, including the viewer.
Not one of my favorite subjects, the military, and not one of my favorite Travolta films, especially when corruption is the game. The senior officer who brings civilian Travolta in on a case gets his due by a subordinate, that much is true, the rest is smoke and mirrors.
The twist at the end makes this clear.
Almost a true waste of my time although I watched this one to the end.
