Review of Basic (2003) by Cj T — 24 Jul 2009

I got the feeling while watching this movie that the writer saw the Sixth Sense and thought to himself "hey you know what would be even cooler? if instead of one twist ending, there was like a MILLION twist endings. And they weren't just endings, they were twist beginnings, twist middles AND twist endings. That would be AWESOME." and so basic was born. It was watchable and even interesting at times, but you can definitely overdo the surprise bit.

I watched some of the special features and really grew to hate the screenwriter, he seems like a pretty big self-congratulating douche, and he seems to think the characters he wrote are alot more unique and interesting than they really are.
