Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Waldo I — 31 Oct 2009
It's taken me years to get around to seeing this, so perhaps I missed the best of it, but this is dull and goes off at only half speed. It is a mix of the light-hearted (not comic) and unsettling (not horrific), and is apparently very influential.
Well, its quality lives on in the influence, not in the original. I'm very disappointed, and it is really only worth watching as a fim fan curiosity. I can't imagine someone coming to this for the first time wanting to watch another Coen Bros movie.
