Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Levi P — 30 Nov 2010
The Coen brothers are great at making two kinds of films, dramas and comedies, and this is both of them blended seamlessly together. Like a lot of their work, on top of the solid story, there is layers of symbolism weaved throughout.
What I love about their symbolism the most is that itâ(TM)s not obvious. A person can watch the film and not notice it and still be satisfied in the end, much like the symbolism in The Big Lebowski, but once you see it, it makes the story stronger and you view it in an entirely different way.
